Lion Rock in Hong Kong is famous for its shape, which resembles a lion. The "Hong Kong spirit" is often referred to as the "Lion Rock spirit." For Hong Kong people, the "Lion Rock spirit" embodies hard work, perseverance, embracing challenges, resilience in adversity, and being proactive and adaptable. The Lion Rock spirit is seen as the cultural value of those who grew up in the 60s and 70s, shaping a Hong Kong identity that they can be proud of.

Giant Animal Series originated from a humorous expression made by a friend's pet cat. Maf imagined how it would be amusing if oversized animals appeared in the Hong Kong environment, and this inspired her to start a creative series. Drawing from her understanding of animal characteristics and their relationship to specific locations, along with her imagination, the changing seasons, and current events, she began creating works that explore the coexistence of humans and animals. Through these works, she quietly captures and records the changes of Hong Kong in her own unique way.
