This artwork was created when Maf was in a bad mood. She imagined falling from a great height and being saved by a flying squirrel. She heard some media say that the square building will make people want to jump down, so the selected location must be relevant. The special feature of Lai Tak Tsuen is that it is the only cylindrical public housing estate in all of Hong Kong.
Lai Tak Tsuen Flying Squirrel
Giant Animal Series originated from a humorous expression made by a friend's pet cat. Maf imagined how it would be amusing if oversized animals appeared in the Hong Kong environment, and this inspired her to start a creative series. Drawing from her understanding of animal characteristics and their relationship to specific locations, along with her imagination, the changing seasons, and current events, she began creating works that explore the coexistence of humans and animals. Through these works, she quietly captures and records the changes of Hong Kong in her own unique way.
